1. List all uses of technology in the unit plan.1. Use of internet to access information about hand washing and to create a "stay well " card.
2. What technologies does the teacher use? How does he/she use the technologies? (to demonstrate, to facilitate, etc) The unit plan does not list any technologies that the teacher uses, but behind the scense there are a few. For example, recording evaluation sheet grades, storage of the unit plan.
3. What technologies does the student use? How does he/she use the technologies? The students access the web on My Card Maker and make a cover for their card. In the message section they wrie basic steps for hand wasing, so they are using the key board, and then they print out their work.
4. List at least 5 ways in which technology could be added. It could be that the unit plan would require substantial changes to incorporate these uses of technology, so be sure to indicate (briefly) how you would tweak the plan to include. At least 3 of these should be technologies used by the student (this is harder to think of!) 1. Power point of steps to wash your hands. 2. Class could make a movie on the steps to wash your hands.(teacher/students). 3. Class could watch a movie clip on steps to wash hands.
4. Listen to tapes or books about washing hands. 5. Students could use an interactive website on washing hands. 6. Students could read/listen to books on computer about washing hands.
5. Finally, if you were teaching this lesson, which of the above would you include in your implementation of the unit plan? Why?I would use all of them, but especially the movie, because I think it would avtively involve the students. It would engage them to learn. Now that I know how to do it, it is not that difficult. The students could be actively involved in the process of making the movie, and I think they would enjoy and remember it better.
